CodeMac : blog : Sponsor Schmonsor

Javier, Tom, and I participated in Rails Day 2006. Rails Day is a contest to see who can build the best Ruby on Rails web application in under 24 hours. Our group name was haxr.

We won second place for Best User Interface.

The reward for Best User Interface was a Nintendo DS Lite, a half-year fluxiom pro account, and a single license for Life2Go ( which is now Jax ).

To my understanding, both the fluxiom pro account and the Life2Go software have been sent to us.

The DS is another story. Futuretrack5 was the sponsor who was supposed to supply the DS, and initially seemed like they would send it. October 18th was when the winners were announced, and it is now January 30th. It started with several emails confirming that we would like the Nintendo DS lite, and the address to send it to, but ever since I have heard nothing back from them. So far we are up to 3 emails without a response.

They got free advertising through RailsDay, and didn't supply their part of the bargain.

Also, I got 2 DS games for christmas from people who thought I had a Nintendo DS lite... because, you know, I won it.

What a joke of a sponsor. Futuretrack5 can email me and confirm that they are sending me my Nintendo DS lite, or I can whine more. Sounds juvenile, but their company is that of reputation. Maybe they are so stuck in the internet that they don't know how to use the mail?
